In its 18th year, the Madison WI Garden Expo will be held from February 11th- 13th, 2011 at the Alliant Energy Center Exhibition Hall. Hours are 4-9p.m. on Friday, 8a.m.-6p.m. on Saturday, and 10a.m.- 4p.m. on Sunday.
There are more than 100 seminars and demonstrations to choose from and 400 exhibitor booths. Some seminar topics include: open-raised vegetable gardening, the autumn garden, hardscape options for outdoor living, small space, small budget gardening, basics of composting, landscaping to increase your property value, and many more. There are also hands on classes to take part of for a small additional fee. On Friday there will be a workshop on how to make jewelry from iris pods and hammered brass. On Saturday there are quite a few hands on classes to choose from like how to create a mosaic address stone or silk scarf dying with herbs and spices. On Sunday choose from veggie leaf casting and hypertufa planting.
